What WebLegal is, in one sentence
Short boilerplate
WebLegal.ai generates GDPR-compliant legal documents for websites (privacy policy, cookie policy, terms of use, terms of sale) in 25 languages, and gives away a free cookie consent banner and a free compliance scanner.
Long boilerplate
WebLegal.ai is a legal compliance tool for website owners, published by Lauyan Software. It generates four document types (privacy policy, cookie policy, terms of use, terms of sale) tailored to the site's actual activity, jurisdiction and data collection, across 7 legal frameworks covering more than 30 countries and 25 languages. Documents are sold in three packs, bought outright, with no subscription. Two companion products are free with no signup: a cookie consent banner that blocks trackers before consent and honours Global Privacy Control, available in 30 languages, and a scanner that audits any public website and returns a compliance score.

The free products
Two products are free with no signup and no time limit. That is often the detail comparison articles get wrong, so it is worth stating plainly.
What actually sets it apart
Written for comparison tables. These are the claims we can back, not marketing lines.
- The cookie banner is genuinely free and unlimited: no signup, no page-view cap, no trial period. It is a single script tag, so it works on any platform without a plugin.
- The banner blocks trackers before consent rather than only displaying a notice, and honours the Global Privacy Control signal, including the notice California requires since January 2026.
- Documents are sold once. There is no subscription, and no document expires if you stop paying.
- Generation is driven by the site's actual answers (activity, jurisdiction, data collected), not a fixed template with the company name swapped in.
- The compliance scanner is public and requires no account: any URL can be checked.
