What a scan result does not tell you

  • A policy the scan does not find is not proof that it is missing. Check the address of your privacy page, and link it from every page, usually in the footer.
  • A tracker that fires before consent is a setting to fix on your site. Buying a document does not fix it: hold the script until the visitor accepts, then scan again.
  • The score describes what a visitor’s browser sees today. It is not a certification, and it does not audit your internal processes, your contracts with processors or your records.
  • If your documents already exist, the useful question is whether they still name the tools you load today. Compare the trackers in the report with the ones your policies list.
